The dose of departure recommended for fluvoxamine maleate is 50 mgs, managed as a simple daily dose at bedtime. In clinical controlled trials establishing the effectiveness of fluvoxamine maleate in OCD, the patients were announced in a range of dose from 100 to 300 mgs / days. As a result, the dose should be augmented in the increase of 50 mgs every 4 - 7 days, as tolerated, until therapeutic advantage maximum is fulfilled, not exceed 300 mgs a day. It is recommended that a complete daily dose of more than 100 mgs must be given in two divided doses. If doses are not equal, the biggest dose should be given at bedtime.

Proportion for rather old or Hepatically Diminished Patients: they pointed out that the rather old patients and those with the hepatic weakening have a permission diminished by fluvoxamine maleate. As a result, he can be appropriated to change the initial dose and the titration of subsequent dose for these patient groups.

Maintenance / continuance Extended Treatment: Although the effectiveness of fluvoxamine maleate beyond 10 weeks of proportion for OCD is not researched in controlled trials, OCD is a chronic condition and it is reasonable to consider continuance for an answering patient. They should make that the adaptations of proportion support the patient on the lowest efficient proportion and the patients should be periodically re-examined to determine the need for the continued treatment.
